Covid-19 Office Updates

Our Office During the Stay at Home Directive

In an effort to keep everyone safe and to comply with CDC recommendations, we have made important

modifications to our schedule:

  • Although we are not technically on the front lines, we play a significant role as responsible health care providers by keeping our patients healthy in order to avoid dental/periodontal related emergency room visits.
  • Non-emergency appointments are being postponed until probably May 1.
  • During the closure, there will be someone in the office to take your calls. Dr. Sabzehei and I are always available to answer your questions. We encourage you to reach out to us.
  • The patients we are seeing fall into one of two categories: 1. Those with true emergencies such as pain, swelling or bleeding 2. Those patients who will develop into emergencies if they are not managed in a timely fashion.

Protocol for In-Office Visits

  • Pre-screening on the phone to determine the nature of your problem and to see if other forms of intervention can be instituted without you leaving your home.
  • Pre-screening on the phone to determine if you are at high risk for transmitting the virus.
  • Pre-screening on the phone to determine if you are in a high-risk category: elderly or medically compromised. We will thoroughly review your medical history and advise you accordingly

In The Office

  • Please come into the office alone – We want to avoid having more than one person in the reception area at one time. If someone has given you a ride, please have them wait in the car.
  • Your temperature will be taken and you will be directed to use hand sanitizer before entering the office.
  • While we realize that much of this is inconvenient, we can go through it as smoothly as possible together. There are no compromises with safety.

Depending on how things develop nationally and locally, we may return to partial operations around May 1. We will do our best to schedule everyone promptly. However, please keep in mind that we need to prioritize our initial visits to those patients that are in need of urgent care, post-surgical care and those that will likely develop into emergencies if care is not delivered. This includes those with underlying medical conditions such as diabetes that are more susceptible to oral infections.

We will reach out to each and every one of our patients as soon as we have a good idea on how to proceed. Please know that you and your families are in our prayers and we look forward to resuming your care shortly.
