Teeth In A Day

Moving forward from tooth loss with All on four dentures, supported by implants

Drs. Peter Cabrera and Bahareh Sabzehei are specialists in periodontics and talented implant surgeons. They have advanced training and expertise to rebuild both the teeth and the supportive hard and soft tissues, bone, and gums. These capabilities provide peace of mind to our patients across Chicago and greater northeastern Illinois. They can trust that our knowledge and onsite capabilities support optimal, predictable treatment outcomes and a safe, comfortable, and convenient experience.

Additionally, as specialists, we can provide services that are not available at other dentists’ offices. For instance, All on Four dental implants represent one of the most efficient and conservative ways for patients who are missing many or all of their teeth to complete their attractive, healthy, and fully functional smiles!

About All on Four

Dental implants are designed to replace tooth roots. An implant may be expertly positioned in the jaw to stabilize a replacement tooth (or dental crown). Implants are made from biocompatible materials. So, they are designed to fuse or join the surrounding bone naturally. Once the osseointegration process is complete, the implant can function as a tooth root. The “artificial root” may be attached to a crown to hold the new tooth in place.

Our specialists can also place more implants in the jawbone to support additional prosthetic teeth. Notably, due to advanced dental techniques, we can position a minimal number of implants to support or retain a maximum number of teeth. We do not have to place one implant to support each and every corresponding prosthetic tooth.

In fact, with “All on four” systems, we can apply as few as four implants to replace all of the teeth in an arch. This means an entire upper or lower denture can be secured to and on top of just four implants to replace and stabilize all missing or failing teeth. This also means we can minimize the surgical sites, contributing to a more positive and pleasant experience. This approach furthermore helps minimize the time spent in treatment and the costs associated with treatment because fewer implants are needed to treat patients with more extensive restorative dentistry needs.

Our advanced knowledge and CBCT imaging-guided approach to placing implants maximize available bone. In fact, it is sometimes referred to as a “graft-less” procedure because it may be appropriate for patients whose jaws have sustained bone loss. The process of bone resorption starts as soon as a tooth is lost; without treatment, bone continues to deteriorate rapidly.

Drs. Cabrera and Sabzehei will consider these and other factors when recommending treatment. With All on Four, we may even be able to replace all of your missing teeth immediately – during the same appointment that any remaining teeth are removed. After the bone has healed and the implants have fused to the rest of the jaw, we can place the final restorations or permanent dentures.

Now that you know a bit about this process and options for restorative care, we welcome any questions and look forward to meeting you.
