Our periodontists, Drs Peter O. Cabrera and Bahareh Sabzehei are equipped with the advanced knowledge and technologies to provide safe, convenient, and effective “teeth in a day” also commonly called “All On Four ” services.

About “Teeth in a Day” or “All On Four”

Dental practitioners often market the ability to extract and replace missing teeth “in a day” (within one dental appointment). There are many advantages associated with this concept. Notably, patients like the idea of entering the practice with badly damaged teeth or gaps in their smile and leaving the office the same day with a new, complete smile. However, each patient has different needs, anatomical features, goals, and other characteristics. “Teeth in a day” or “All On Four ” is not universally appropriate for all patients and It is very important that you consult with highly trained specialists for these types of treatments to make sure you are a candidate.

The service essentially removes remaining, damaged teeth as needed. Then, the dental implant(s) is/are precisely positioned in the jawbone. The temporary tooth (or teeth) is/are applied immediately following the implant placement(s). So, we may replace a single tooth or an entire upper or lower arch of teeth in the jaw(s). If all teeth are replaced with implants, this process is primarily referred to as “All-on-4” ® or “TeethXpress” or “Teeth in a Day”. The name is derived from strategically placing as few as four implants in the upper or lower jaw to support all the teeth in the arch. Minimal implants support a maximum number of teeth. The implants themselves are designed to function like tooth roots. Each implant is made from biocompatible materials, which naturally integrate into the surrounding bone in the jaw. The replacement tooth (or teeth) is/are then stabilized in the jaw by the implant(s). This design mimics the structure of natural teeth.

Candidates for “same day” dental implants

Before moving forward with any treatment, our specialists thoroughly evaluate the health of your teeth, gums, jawbone, and mouth. We also assess each patient’s overall health and any factors (such as the use of tobacco products) which may inhibit fast and healthy healing following the placement of dental implants. Notably, candidates for one-day implants and tooth replacement should have healthy gums, free of gum disease, and have adequate bone density and height.

Bone loss (“resorption”) begins as soon as teeth are removed. For this reason, it is essential to have teeth replaced promptly. When teeth are not present, the supporting bone does not get the stimulation to retain its strength from functions such as grinding down food. Sufficient bone provides a strong foundation for artificial tooth roots or implants. We use sophisticated cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging to assess the availability of bone for implants precisely and accurately. Additional procedures, including bone grafting, may be required to build up the bone and assure the long-term viability of your replacement teeth.

A final note

Regardless of our treatment recommendations, the final restoration(s) is/are never placed immediately. There is always a healing period as the implant osseointegrates or attaches to the bone to effectively become a part of the jaw, usually around four to six months after the implant is placed. We encourage you to contact Perio Implant Chicago in Chicago ILat (312) 736-7959 to schedule a consultation with one of our specialists. Teeth in a day

Having our patients come in without a tooth, and being able to use the latest technology, be able to give them a temporary that does not need to come in and out in less than an hour is one of the most rewarding services we provide.
Having to lose a front tooth is a traumatic experience for anyone. We use the latest technology to help give you a tooth in a single appointment, never having to have a temporary that comes in and out.
We take a 3D scan. Merge it with a 3D mold to plan an implant, and design a surgical guide that fits perfectly on your tooth, and lets us precisely place an implant in the perfect position, so we can place a connector, and make a temporary crown right there. So you can leave with a tooth immediately, and a few weeks later have a perfect tooth
